Languages and formats¶
Kadenio is available in English and Danish. This page explains how the shop chooses its language, which language customer emails use, and how dates, numbers and amounts in Danish kroner (DKK) are shown.
Who can use this¶
| Task | Who |
|---|---|
| Choose the shop's language | Owner, in Settings → General → Regional settings |
| Choose the shop's time zone | Owner, in the same place |
| Use the app in the chosen language | Everyone |
Before you start¶
- Agree in the shop which language staff and customers should see.
- Check that the shop's time zone is correct (for Danish shops: Copenhagen).
Key concepts¶
| Concept | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Shop language | The language chosen in Settings. Customer emails and staff notifications use it. |
| Device language | The language the app shows on a particular computer, tablet or phone. Each device remembers the last language that was chosen on it. |
| Shop time zone | Used for the start and end of each day in reports. |
| Shop currency | One currency per shop. Danish shops use DKK. |
How to switch the shop to Danish¶
- Sign in as the owner and open Settings → General → Regional settings.
- In Language ("Choose the language used across the Kadenio shop interface."), choose Danish.
- Select Save. The app switches to Danish straight away and shows "Sprogindstillingen er opdateret."
- On each shared shop device, sign in once as the owner and open Settings → General → Regional settings. The device then switches to the shop language and remembers it.
To switch back, follow the same steps and choose English.
Each device remembers its own language
The language is remembered per device, not per person. A new device, or a different browser, starts in English until the owner has opened Regional settings on it once. There is no language switch in the header or in a personal profile.
Which language customers and staff receive¶
| What | Language |
|---|---|
| The app on a device | The language last chosen on that device |
| Repair received email | The shop language |
| Gift card and voucher confirmations | The shop language |
| Service reminders | The language the app was showing when the reminder was scheduled |
| Staff notifications and their email copies | The shop language at the time the notification was created |
Customers do not have their own language setting.
How dates, numbers and amounts are shown¶
| What | English | Danish |
|---|---|---|
| Dates | 17 Oct 2026 | 17. okt. 2026 |
| Date and time | 17 Oct 2026, 12:30 | 17. okt. 2026, 12.30 |
| Amounts on screen (DKK) | kr 1.250,00 | kr 1.250,00 |
| Amounts in customer emails (DKK) | DKK 1,250.00 | 1.250,00 kr. |
- On screen, amounts in kroner always use the Danish number style (full stop for thousands, comma for decimals) with the symbol first, whichever language the app is in.
- Stock quantities are whole numbers.
- In the sales CSV from Reports, amounts are in øre without formatting and times are in UTC. See Reports and exports.
Rules to know¶
- The languages available are English and Danish.
- Screens, buttons and messages from the app are shown in Danish when the app is in Danish.
- A few names are still shown in English, for example the bike types, the list of countries and the names of the default workshop tabs.
- Notifications keep the language they were created in. Changing the shop language does not translate older notifications.
- Changing the time zone or currency in Settings does not change reports or receipts. Contact Kadenio support if these need to change.
What happens next¶
- After you save a new language, your device switches immediately, and new customer emails and notifications use the new language.
- Other devices switch the next time the owner opens Regional settings on them.
Not available in this version¶
- Languages other than English and Danish.
- A personal language choice for each member of staff.
- A language choice per customer.
- More than one currency, or currency conversion.
Common questions / problems¶
| Symptom | Cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|

| A customer email arrives in English although staff use Danish | Customer emails follow the shop language | Set the shop language in Settings |
